Sharing her experience as an educator, author, consultant, and executive coach, Elizabeth emphasizes human flourishing with the desire to serve around the globe. Her goal is to develop leaders through effective communication skills. Elizabeth’s education at the University of Pennsylvania (M.S.Edu and Ph.D, graduating with distinction) and working in executive education, cross-cultural management, and communication training for over 20 years, have earned her several achievements: She was a Fulbright Scholar to China, serving as a citizen ambassador to increase mutual understanding between people of different cultures. In 2020 (just before Covid) she was selected as one of 60 experts living in China to receive the award for “Outstanding Foreign Expert in Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation” from the Prime Minister of China. And she has been granted numerous teaching awards over the years. She has taught at the Wharton School & Fels Institute of Government; Chinese University of Hong Kong, Sichuan University, Chengdu; Shanghai International Studies University; and the University of Notre Dame, focusing on written and spoken communication performance. She’s the founder of the Intercultural Leader Institute® where she cultivates inclusive leadership through developing intercultural sensitivity. A current popular online course offering is: Inclusive Leadership. She is the author of several books, her latest being Intercultural Communication for Global Business: How Leaders Communicate Success (Routledge, 2021, 2e) which is used by professionals and in universities around the world. She has consulted for over 20 years with a variety of clients, such as Boeing, Siemens, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, AXA, Vanguard, the U.S. Marines, U.S. State Department, Whirlpool, Panasonic Japan, China Development Bank, HSBC, and Save The Children-Asia, to name a few. Experiencing cultures, languages, and people firsthand is at Elizabeth’s core. She has lived in Mexico, Peru, Hong Kong and China, and traveled the world. She’s sipped tea with tribal leaders in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, helped build a schoolhouse for children with Down syndrome in Mexico, ridden camels in Inner Mongolia and elephants in Thailand, and climbed the Great Wall in China so many times that she’s lost count.
