Jacob Case

Biography

Since his first database class in college back in 2003, Jacob knew he was going to have a career working with data.  Jacob started his data career as a data analyst in the network marketing industry, and has since worked in the finance, healthcare, online retail, and property management industries in both individual contributor & management roles.  His career progression has taken him from analytics to data architecture, administration, integration, and database engineering.

Jacob has a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Utah. He also holds 2 bachelor’s degrees, 1 in Finance and the other in Information Systems.  He holds the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification in SQL Server, the Certified ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance, and has recently completed a post-graduate certificate in Cloud Computing from the University of Texas at Austin.  Jacob also has experience doing web development and object-oriented programming.

Jacob has taught graduate & undergraduate courses at the state university level since 2019 about topics including Database Theory & Design, Systems Analysis & Design, and Data Structures & Java.  Although Jacob is still working in the industry, he finds teaching to bring a different type of satisfaction and considers it one of his callings to pass his knowledge on to others.
