Biography

 

Ms. Lisa Pagano currently serves as AIG & Talent Development (TD) District Lead for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, a large urban district in North Carolina. Prior to this role, she served in the capacity of TD Compliance Specialist where she led and managed the gifted identification process for students in grades K-12 and supported gifted programming. Ms. Pagano is a National Board Certified educator who brings a wide range of experience and expertise to her current role. She majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and concentration in English during her undergraduate studies, earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a Specialization in Literacy, and is licensed to teach AIG learners. She has completed coursework and an administrative internship to become a licensed Principal.

Ms. Pagano has served as an elementary classroom teacher in Title 1 schools, an academic facilitator at a gifted magnet school, and an AIG teacher in both suburban and urban settings. Her training and diverse experiences as an educator have made her a skilled differentiator and advocate for students. Her passions include gifted education, meaningful technology integration, and curriculum design. She regularly creates and provides personalized professional development to schools, has presented sessions at the local, state, and national level, and has taught AIG licensure courses at Queens University. Ms. Pagano is a trained trainer of Thinking Maps and has successfully trained, developed, and coached several schools in schools throughout the country in the implementation of these powerful, portable tools for student learning. In addition to her work with schools, Ms. Pagano frequently collaborates with other departments within the district to expand educational opportunities for students. Ms. Pagano continues to actively read research in the field of gifted education and apply it in all aspects of her current role to adapt and improve gifted identification processes, improve service delivery models, and increase integrity in advanced elementary programming.

She is thrilled to serve on the Master of Curriculum and Instruction Program Advisory Board at Wake Forest University.
