Mike Shady

As Chief Digital Officer, Mike Shady is responsible for developing and directing the Staples, Inc. go-forward business strategy across all customer facing, digital touch points, and accelerating progress toward an industry-leading ecommerce business. 

Mike has 22 years of extensive retail experience, with 17 years in e-commerce and omni-channel merchandising. Throughout his career, Mike has developed and executed online strategies that have delivered significant growth and customer satisfaction improvements, including multiple years of double- to triple-digit comparable sales growth within multi-billion dollar online businesses. He is a proven leader of both onshore and offshore teams focused on e-commerce fundamentals as well as future growth in all aspects of online retail – from merchandising, site experience, pricing and promotions to item data, site UX and customer support. 

Prior to Staples,  he held various leadership roles in ecommerce and web operations, including 5 years at Lowe’s Companies, Inc. and 15 years at The Home Depot, Inc.  Mike’s most recent role was Senior Vice President of Online for Lowe’s, where he was responsible for the company’s online business.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Binghamton University.
