New Students

Welcome to the Wake Forest family! In this section of the website, you will find information to help you prepare for the start of classes.  Review the information outlined here as well as the items that you need to complete before you begin your program.

 

Enrollment Deposit

To secure your place and take the next step we ask that you submit an enrollment deposit. This deposit is credited to your first semester tuition. To complete this step please login to the application portal to accept your offer, and submit your non-refundable deposit.

 

 

Paying Your Tuition

We proudly aid students with scholarships, payment plans, and/or federal and private loan programs. Regardless of how you choose to finance your education, we are here to help.  It’s important to start this process early and review all of your options. Learn more.

 

 

 

Deac Credentials

Once we receive your enrollment deposit you will receive an email with your Deac Credentials. Your Deac username and password is your gateway to all resources so, it’s important that you follow the instructions outlined in the email and follow the steps to activate your account and set up a 2-Step Verification. Registration

Registration at Wake Forest School of Professional Studies takes place online. We take care of the process for new students in their entering semester with one course in the first mini session of the semester and one course in the second mini session of the semester (a total of 6 credits per semester). You will need your Deac Credentials to login into the registration portal at and here you can view courses and make changes during the add/drop period.

Orientation

SPS Orientation is a required online asynchronous course within the Canvas system. Log into Canvas and access the Orientation Course 30 days prior to the start of the term. This course should be completed prior to the start of your fist course. SPS students have recommended blocking off one hour on your calendar to complete the course. Remember, Wake Forest University uses a Single Sign On function for all authorized accounts and software; therefore, before you attempt to access any Canvas course, you must have your Wake Forest University Google Mail account activated.

 

Getting Started with Classes

When you login to Canvas, you will see another course called The Pearl Cafe. This is your one-stop resource center with academic, wellbeing, and career/professional development information. Other administrative information (links to the bookstore, forms, and the student handbook) is also found in this course. 

You will gain access to your course(s) one week prior to the start of each mini session. Be sure to log in, review the syllabus, and obtain the necessary books/course materials. Mark your calendars for weekly synchronous sessions and important assignment due dates. Your Student Success Manager will also share this information with you. Start early to set yourself up for success!

 

Meet & Greet

We offer virtual opportunities to meet your Academic Director and your classmates prior to the start of classes. This is also a chance for you to meet other SPS students, faculty, and SPS staff. Details are sent to your WFU email account, so be on the lookout for the invitation and save the date to attend one of these sessions! This has been a favorite for many students in the admission process.
