Test your historical and cultural knowledge with this short and informative quiz about LGBTQ+ history, achievements, and culture. The trivia quiz is 10 questions, you can take it as many times as you would like, and when you get the right answer you’ll learn a bit more about an important piece of LGBTQ+ history.

LISTEN TO A NEW PODCAST

Change up your routine this week, and listen to a new podcast with stories and perspectives that feature special and important voices in this community. 

  • Making Gay History: This podcast tells the stories of LGBTQ people through interviews with historians, activists, and other experts.
  • Queerology: A Podcast on Belief and Being – This podcast explores the intersection of LGBTQ identity and faith. 
  • One From the Vaults: A trans history podcast that features interviews with LGBTQ activists and leaders from the past

VISIT MOTHER SO QUEER 

Mother So Queer is an interactive, online exhibit curated by Dr. Angela Mazaris’ Queer Public Histories class during the Fall 2015 semester. This exhibit contains full length interviews conducted by past and current students, segments from interviews curated by theme, and a timeline of Wake Forest’s LGBTQ History.

 
BE A CHAMPION 

Raise Awareness: PRIDE Month is an opportunity for us to increase awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Consider sharing educational resources, articles, or documentaries that shed light on LGBTQ+ history, struggles, and accomplishments. 

ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY

Extend your support beyond the workplace by participating in local PRIDE events or collaborating with LGBTQ+ organizations. Volunteer opportunities, fundraising drives, or sponsorships can make a significant impact and demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

DISPLAY VISUAL SUPPORT 

Show your support for PRIDE Month by wearing or displaying rainbow-themed symbols. This simple act helps create a welcoming environment and shows solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

USE INCLUSIVE LANGUAGE

Use inclusive language and avoid assumptions about colleagues’ sexual orientation or gender identity. Simple changes like using gender-neutral pronouns or avoiding heteronormative assumptions can make a significant difference in creating an inclusive work environment.
