What Wake Forest SPS Students Should Know Before the Semester Ends
As the holiday break nears, there’s a buzz of energy in the air. With final assignments wrapping up and spring registration approaching, this is a busy time, but also a chance to finish strong and set yourself up for a successful new year.Â
As the fall semester comes to a close, here are a few key things Wake Forest SPS students can keep in mind to make the most of these final weeks.Â
1. Final Push: Classes End December 17
We’re almost at the finish line. Classes end on December 17, so now is the moment to give it your all. As you work on final projects and papers, remember that every effort matters. Stay organized, reach out for support when you need it, and take things one step at a time.
Your hard work now will pay off, so keep your focus. You’ve got this!
2. Spring Registration: Remember to Sign Up
The spring semester kicks off January 5, and it’ll be here before you know it. The priority registration window closed on November 6, but there is still time to register and secure your spring schedule before courses fill up.
Spring courses open in Canvas on December 29, giving you a chance to preview the syllabus and materials. Each course includes a one-hour weekly synchronous session, so check your syllabus for the day and time and save it on your calendar. While these sessions are recorded, attending live gives you the best opportunity to ask questions, participate, and get the most out of your course.
Ready to register? Go to Workday Student, reach out to your Student Success Manager, consult the job aid, or email spsreg@wfu.edu for help.
3. Get a Jump Start on Next Semester
Use the break to think about what you want to get out of the spring semester. Do you want to improve your time management, explore a subject you’ve been curious about, or connect more with classmates and instructors? Even a little planning now can make your first weeks go more smoothly and help you hit the ground running.
4. For New Students: Join a Meet & Greet!
If you’re starting at Wake Forest SPS in the spring, welcome to the family! To help you get settled, we’re hosting three virtual Meet & Greet sessions. These are the perfect chance to meet other students, ask questions, and get a feel for the community.Â
They’re fun, low-pressure, and a great way to start building connections with classmates and faculty who are here to support you from day one. Mark your calendar for one of the following sessions:
- Thursday, December 11 | 7 – 8 p.m. ET
- Monday, December 15 | 8 – 9 p.m. ET
- Friday, January 2 | 12 – 1 p.m. ET
5. Celebrate Your Success and Recharge
The holiday season is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and spend time with the people who matter most. Take a break and be fully present with family and friends.
Remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as hitting the books. You’ve put in the work all semester, and you deserve this time to rest, recharge, and come back ready to tackle the spring semester with energy and focus. We look forward to seeing you back at it in the new year!
