Biography

 

Mohamed Desoky, PhD, MBA, Academic Director, Educational and Finance Professional.

Dr. Desoky has extensive academic, corporate and military experience surrounding engineering, finance, economics and leadership. Prior to joining Wake Forest SPS, Dr. Desoky began his academic career in 2014 with SKEMA Business School’s Raleigh campus where he most recently managed all program operations as Academic Dean and concurrently delivered Master level market, corporate, international and computational finance courses. Before his academic tenure, he was a senior investment banker in New York City, where he assisted commercial clients on their quest to screen, negotiate and execute various capital market transactions including acquisition financings, debt refinancings, amendments and maturity extensions, cash management agreements and restructurings across the defense, manufacturing, mining, telecommunications, healthcare and consumer industries.

Dr. Desoky holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated with Honors Distinction, a Master of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial & Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University. Dr. Desoky, a former collegiate athlete, is also a veteran of the United States Army. Dr. Desoky currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife Erica Desoky.
