Effective teams spur innovation, facilitate adaptation, and ensure efficient functioning in almost all organizations. Teams that are led effectively have greater cohesion, employee engagement, and creativity which result in superior performance and satisfaction. Learning how to build, lead, and sustain effective teams provides leaders and organizations with a competitive advantage.

This 1-day program will provide the participant with the knowledge and tools to build and lead effective teams (standing, temporary, and/or virtual), manage conflict, build trust with others, and shape a culture of empowerment and shared leadership.

Certificate in Leadership

Building and Leading Effective Teams is one of seven open enrollment leadership programs. Programs are presented on a rotating basis throughout the year with completion of four programs resulting in a Certificate in Leadership from Wake Forest Executive Education and the School of Business’ Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character. Interested participants are able to register for this program individually or combine it with 3 other programs in the series to earn the certificate.

Key Learnings

Current and emerging leaders will receive practical, insightful guidance and actionable tools on how to, build a cohesive and aligned team, manage conflict in a constructive manner, engage in challenging conversations, accelerate the development of trust within your organization, shape a culture of empowerment within the team to encourage innovation, foster continuous learning to enhance performance, and lead standing, temporary, and virtual teams.

Who Should Attend?

This program is designed for both new and experienced leaders wishing to enhance their ability to build and lead effective teams.  Interested participants are encouraged to attend individually or in teams from their organizations.

    • 8:00 – 8:20 Arrival and Breakfast
    • 8:20-8:30 Introductions and program overview
    • 8:30– 10:00 Session 1 – Building cohesive and aligned teams: The charter process
    • 10:00 – 10:15 Break
    • 10:15 – 11:45 Session 2 – Leveraging conflict and challenging conversations to foster growth
    • 11:45 – 12:00 Morning recap & group review
    • 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch
    • 12:30 – 2:15 Session 3 – Amplifying your leader impact through empowerment and learning
    • 2:15 – 2:30 Break
    • 2:30 – 4:00 Session 4 – Leading teams (standing, temporary, remote, and/or virtual)
    • 4:00 – 4:15 Review and group discussion

  • Cost

    The cost of the June 2024 program is $900 includes materials, continental breakfast and lunch, and is due in full at time of registration.

  • Materials

    Course materials are included in the cost of tuition. Course materials will be distributed in paper format at the beginning of the workshop. Electronic materials can be provided upon request.

  • Refund and Cancellation Policies

    Program Cancellation

    This course is offered contingent upon sufficient enrollment. If a course must be cancelled, all registered participants will be notified at least five (5) calendar days before the course’s start date. All registered participants will receive a 100% tuition refund. No fees will be charged for cancelled courses.

     

    Individual Cancellation – Refund Policy

    Prospective participants who withdraw at least 10 days prior to the start of a course will receive a full refund of tuition paid.
