Biography

 

Portia R Mount is Chief Marketing Officer at Topcoder, a crowdsourcing talent marketplace and a subsidiary of global IT/consulting firm Wipro (NYSE: WIT). Topcoder strives to unlock the potential of the global workforce through a competitive open innovation model that leverages the gig-economy and uses crowdsourcing to build premier-grade IT solutions for global corporations and educational institutions. As a member of Topcoder’s executive leadership team, Portia leads marketing, brand strategy, UX/UI, and the Topcoder member community. 

In addition to being an accomplished marketer, Portia has extensive communications leadership in her background, is a 2x TEDx speaker, and co-author of the best-selling career advice book ” Kick Some Glass: Ten Ways Women Succeed at Work on Their Own Terms ” published by McGraw Hill Education. She is host of The Manifista Podcast, a career podcast for aspiring women. As an executive coach and facilitator, Portia frequently writes and delivers keynote talks on career and lifestyle issues for professional women. She is passionate about the future of work and the power and potential of the freelance and gig-economy to unleash the potential of people everywhere. 

Portia holds a BA in Anthropology from Mills College, a MA in Cultural Anthropology and East Asian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business. Born and raised in California, Portia lives in North Carolina with her husband, David, their kids Gideon and Collye Sue, and their dog Cosmo.
